I remember Myspace being the major giant in the world of Social Media followed by Facebook, Twitter, Orkut accordingly. However, I never had my space on the Myspace network, but had a curiosity to join it sometime later. But before I could make up my mind I was asked to open an account on Facebook the least talked about then.
Well, at present I am not even interested in creating my profile on Myspace, as it shall not help me find me friends and make my presence better. Myspace was earlier popular with its own name and had a recognizable fame. But however, when you Google for Myspace all you find is the news related to its decline.
The twitter overtook the traffic of Myspace as the major population on MySpace (i.e. of the celebrities) made a shift to micro-blogging. If there is one area of the market that Facebook has failed to penetrate then it is the market for those who desire the faux-belief that they are in some way close to their favorite musician or actor.
The graphs and charts represented below show the estimated unique monthly US visitors to MySpace according to respective Quantcast.com report source. The decline in the traffic can be clearly seen up to August 2010. The traffic dropped from 60mn unique to just over 40mn. Unfortunately for Myspace the latest estimates from Alexa suggest that the traffic has kept on falling through September and October, at a quite alarming rate.

A gradual drop of Myspace unique visitors and a Steep rise in the Facebook users can be seen on the Graph below.

The below is graph targeting Facebook and Myspace as two main keywords being searched in Google. The trends show a long period of time over which both the websites had variant changes with respect to the searches and online traffic.

However, after such drastic ups and downs, Myspace hasn’t lost any hope at maintaining its presence online and retaining its users, despite of the fact no new users have opted to join the place. However, Myspace is redefining itself now. The website has rejuvenated its look and made a makeover. Recently Myspace has redefined its logo as below:

Whether this was supposed to be reference to the site being empty or a suggestion that the user base is stupid is purely up to your interpretation. Both would be perfectly applicable in the circumstances however. It is a pity that Myspace that used to be the buzz back in the day, has now been completely annihilated.
Adios MySpace, Facebook is the only place where I ‘like’ to be online always.

Social media can be said to have taken over the world. And the Two Biggies have settled to rule the World of Internet. The Twitter and Facebook have reformed the meaning of Internet marketing and Search Engine Optimization. The tweets and updates follow the user convenience and check for the upcoming trends on the social media. Businesses have opted to publish their deals and products being marketed in various forms of advertises and applications.
The applications on Facebook have kept youngsters engaged to the brand with fun and logic. Every other person is sure of getting fake results if he/she chooses for the “My love Percentage” but still the applications satisfy the users and they have fun sharing it with their friends. Such applications do not imply on the true lives but still leave impacts of or traces of you being lucky today! Facebook has thus brought about the change in the profile view recently. If you are using it more for your business the Facebook “use as Fanpage” option makes that possible.
Twitter on other hand is not to be blamed for lame applications and online gaming to keep people engaged to it. But somehow it does matter as the website features to update yourself with extremely quicker methods and share (Retweet) your friends tweet spontaneously. Many other websites have been working upon to enhance the use of Twitter as far as possible. Such websites are known to be the Twitter tools. The twitter tools engage people on Desktop and on phone. The wide range of Web and mobile specific applications leave no stone unturned in making a person more and more addicted to the technology. Tools like Short thesaurus for Twitter have been invented to help in use of short synonyms for particular words.
The twitter seems simple as utility. People have been mistaking the core utility of tweeting to just updating your lunch and dinner menus. All the Social media platforms are no more so social. They have come up with a new dimension in the marketing business. The customer support desk is stated to be more active on the Social media rather on their toll free numbers says an infographic.
So in today’s era if you have no presence on The Social Network you actually do not exist in the online census. The gmail and yahoo hardly matter today. It is the Facebook Messages that have been taking over and the Twitter ads coming up This April will shoot for a direct target on the Facebook and Google Ads.
Social media is spreading its tentacles for all the ventures available. What do you think will be the next target internet marketing or rather social media marketing idea?

Getting more traffic may be a headache for many search engine optimizers and webmasters; others enjoy life with their online fortunes. If you are interested in making your website the next big thing on the Internet and want to make a lot of cash with Internet marketing, then you have to be able to get more traffic, and leads.
Without a doubt, some website owners fall victim to highly expensive traffic generating methods they use. What you really need is a way that allows you to send millions of TARGETED visitors to your web site which turn into cash day after day. This article looks upon the various methods and strategies for bringing more traffic to your website: social networking, SEO, and blogs/forums. Although this article is mainly upon the strategies working upon the social media source of traffic.
Powerful Social Networking Strategies
Social networking provides the essential support to get you more targeted traffic much easier and more effective than any other traditional internet marketing methods. The best thing about using those social networks is that you can generate a huge amount of traffic even if you have no website or blog. All you need to do is prepare a simplified and sequential strategy for good social networking.
What you should do to make a good social networking strategy is:
- Join groups. After creating accounts, you should search for a nice group that is interested in getting what you are offering. Targeting the wrong people is the surefire way to lose. If you find your group on those media channels, then you have to give them a hand by providing many solutions helping them overcome their problems easily.
- Sell yourself first, not your products. Be sure that your products will be well-known after getting good reputation for yourself first. Marketers are always looking forward to work with obvious pros with reputations for quality. Building a visible image with social media allows people to trust your, offers, and services. And that’s a really good way to promote your business by introducing yourself to the public as people are more concerned to know who they are dealing with.
- Be a relevant resource. Becoming trusted and relevant resources is super easy. First of all, just providing your followers with helpful tools, blog posts you’ve read, free software, etc doesn’t take much time. The other person has done all the work, you just present it to your followers. The more you become a resource for them, the more they will refer.
- Keep strong communication. By keeping in touch with your readers by sending them instant messages, thank them for their comments, replying to emails. Set up just an hour in a day where all you do is reply to people who have contacted you. Most people NEVER get a reply from “marketers” – so that will immediately set you apart from the normal hype and again boosts trust in you as an authority.

Affiliate article marketing is a great way to make money online and there’s a few ways that you can approach this for maximum benefit. Affiliate marketing has bought in a new direction to the internet mareting techniques in both promoting your product and at the same time earning from your promotions. In this post I’ll be discussing this topic and providing some practical tips for getting the best results from your articles.
What is Affiliate Article Marketing?
For those of you that don’t know, article marketing is where you write articles and submit these to article directories with intent of driving traffic to an affiliate offer to make money.
The concept is simple. Also, there are some great advantages of using it, some being that you don’t necessarily need a website to make any money, and another advantage is that the articles themselves can rank fast in the search engines if they are published on authority domains such as ezineartices.com
Article Traffic
Article marketing can be a good source of traffic generation. The reason to article marketing can just as mentioned above, i.e. writing and publishing articles on authority domains will get more of relevancy for the article and thus help build relevant backlinks to your websites. These articles can rank high in the search engines and usually require a lot less backlinks to do so. If you can get an article to rank you should get free traffic from it.
This can really earn a lot from being a regular article writer. But the point is that you have be consistent at writing articles and to be good in the language that you are supposed to input in your article, as that is also considered.
The key here is to find the sweet spot with the keywords you target. If you get the right competition level your articles will rank better than taking much of the backlinks.
If you keep publishing articles and linking back to your money site from within in them, then the traffic will slowly but surely begin to increase. It’s the same concept of many little streams create a big river.
I use this method for web pages that I know are converting for me, and simply need more traffic to make me more money. The reason I do this, is because if I have a 20 article site, there is only a limited number of keywords I can target with that site itself, unless I add more pages of course.
Once all the pages in the site are ranking in Google, it is important to make sure which pages or articles are helping me do this. Identifying them and linking them for the website make sense.
Article marketing does make much more sense now. It is much like a huge octopus spreading its tentacles to reach out on other sites and pull on a good traffic. This makes more of a sense if the website is working on conversion and wants to milk it for all it’s worth.

As it is the worldwide known fact that SEO is composed of on-page and off-page factor, this article is throws light on some of the important aspects of on-page factors. On page factors are those factors that are directly linked to the website. The tools and applications used to optimize the webpage in order to build authenticity and develop its presence on the World Wide Web. The points to remember while optimizing your site are explained below briefly enough to understand the idea of the term and concept:
Robots.txt file is an important file from the point of a search engine crawler. Being a SEO robot.txt file stands important on the context when we need to emphasize on specific pages for better page ranking results. Robots.txt file is used to specify the path of your website to the search engine crawler. The file includes the specification regarding which pages would be followed and indexed in the search engine database. Pages like rules and regulations are generally present on all the sites and they should not be followed to avoid excessive crawling time. Also, the privacy policies and other confidential pages should remain hidden and should not be indexed in order to avoid indexing in the search engine database and later result a search result.
Sitemap is another instruction to the search engine crawler. The sitemaps are embedded in a site in order to provide easier navigation to the crawler. When a search engine crawler lands on a website, it first lands on the sitemap if present. It crawls through the WebPages as listed in the sitemap. Thus presence of a sitemap provides quick and efficient crawling.
Websites should be built under low weight codes. The coding should be search engine as well as user friendly. The website should not include heavy javascript files, flash files; large images etc. such will slow down the downloading speed. The flash files cannot be read by the search engine crawlers while large images take long –time to download. The HTML coding should be free of errors and should be W3school validated.
The SEO friendly page titles do matter. The keyword should be embedded in the URLs. The use of keywords in the content, description and URL is helpful for SEO but Keyword stuffing should be highly avoided.
i) The meta tags mentioned in the <head> </head> tag should again be optimized as per the target keywords. The description is suggested to be of 165 characters and title to be of 65 characters at least.
ii) Use of <table> should be avoided as it is difficult for the crawler to crawl through the pages. Similarly the use of <frame> tag reduces the number of pages and the use should again be prevented.
One of the most important on page factor is the use of XML and HTML sitemap. The sitemap is actually a graphical representation of the architecture of the website. Site map are essential for pages that have dynamic content, with more and more flash, or may have more of archived pages that are not linked in properly. Sitemap helps users navigate through the pages. The sitemaps helps crawlers guide through the website and its pages. Don’t overlook this simple step in your search engine optimization success
- Have a 404 Error Handling Pages:
404 Error handling pages are used to handle errors in the website when a visitor lands on a page which has an invalid link. The name ‘404 Error’ is used because the web server returns a response code of ‘404’, which means it couldn’t find a matching file/resource for the URL.
The above mentioned points are quite important from the SEO point of you. Hence “ignorance is bliss” and this phrase does stands true for people who ignore the important points of SEO.
